Perceived Quality (PQ) Engineer – Interior Trim

Department: Advanced Manufacturing Engineering 
Reports To: Head of AME (PQ Lead Engineer manages daily activities)

We are seeking a Perceived Quality (PQ) Engineer, targeting Senior Engineer level however we can consider Principal Engineer also to join the dynamic AME team, part of the Advanced Product Creation (APC) Department. This role will focus on supporting the development of Interior Trim Perceived Quality (PQ) during the design stages of vehicle programs. You will work closely with the PQ Lead Engineer to ensure high-quality standards are met for new vehicle concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the PQ Lead Engineer in developing PQ techniques and processes for Interior Trim.

• Use CATIA V5/V6 to create and manipulate geometry for Gap & Rad planning and PQ requirements (50% of time).

• Review and validate system integration for Interior themes.

• Assist with part and assembly maturation processes, offering root cause analysis for design and production concerns.

• Mentor and transfer PQ knowledge to engineering teams, ensuring designs meet PQ targets.

• Support digital reviews, sign-offs, and the creation of Product Attribute Targets.

• Collaborate with TMDTC and PQ teams in India to develop joint standards and guidelines.

Key Requirements:

• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, with experience in creating and manipulating geometry for Gap & Rad planning PQ requirements.

• Experience working with 2D and sectional data.

• Strong understanding of Perceived Quality principles and vehicle interior trim systems.

• Ability to support the development of processes and techniques for Interior Trim PQ.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Additional Skills (Desirable):

• Familiarity with TCUA (Team Centre) PLM utilization.

• Experience in benchmarking and reporting competitor vehicle findings.
